Luetgert murder trial : [scrapbook of newspaper clippings taken from the Chicago record].

Scrapbook of clippings from the Chicago Record about murder trials of Adolph Luetgert, commenced Monday, August 30, 1897. He was a Chicago sausage-maker, on trial for the murder of his wife. Clippings cover only the first trial, which ended October 22, 1897, with the jury in disagreement. Luetgert was found guilty at his second trial, and was sentenced to life imprisonment on February 9, 1898. He died of heart disease in 1899 at the Joliet State Penitentiary].
